The term itself is borrowed from the military, but its impact has become the backbone of our operations.
This meeting is more than just a daily check-in. It’s where problems get solved before they happen, where all voices—from our newest team member to me, the leader of the crew—are heard, and where we ensure our clients and partners experience the smooth, seamless catering service they count on us to deliver.
Here’s how it works.
Once the orders for the day are out, our team sits down together. Moving hot food around the city is more of an art than a science (think traffic, weather, a spilled item, etc) we look at what happened from start to finish, always through the lens of the client’s experience. How do we make it right for them? More importantly, how do we ensure it doesn’t happen again? This process is 100% built around learning and improving. No blame. Just solutions.
And when there are no errors to discuss? We celebrate that too! On those days, we shift our focus to the wins. We talk about what worked well, praise the team’s efforts, and preview the upcoming orders to ensure everyone’s on the same page. It’s a mix of reflecting and looking ahead, and it’s one of the key reasons OfficeFeeder operates like a well-oiled machine.
Our proactive approach doesn’t stop at our internal team, though. The relationships we’ve built with our restaurant partners play a huge role in delivering seamless catering experiences. Over time, they’ve become incredibly skilled at executing orders effectively. But we don’t leave anything to chance. During these meetings, we also review and communicate anything specific our restaurant partners need to know, so the expectations are crystal clear.
Ultimately, this After Action approach allows us to get ahead of red flags, avoid unexpected hiccups, and over deliver on every client’s catering needs. It’s not just about getting the food delivered. It’s about creating a truly stress-free experience for every meeting or event.
